During this first Labor Day A street parade exhibiting "the strength and esprit corps of the trade and labor organizations" was followed by a festival for the workers and their families.
Many people consider Labor Day to be the symbolic “end of summer” and Labor Day also marks the beginning of the NFL and college football season.
