Grand Trees Apartments Secured Door System Instructions / Code Form

The following information and instructions will help you correctly use the Grand Trees Security System. The security system will work through your home telephone as well as your cell phone.

How RESIDENTS enter the building:

As a tenant, you have a four digit "key code" that will release the rear door to your building. This key code will work only for your building. You’ll use this key code as you would any other key, only this "key" works through the keypad on the security system console outside the back door to your building.

Each time you come home, you’ll press the red start button, press the "#" key, then enter your four digit key code. Your key code will generally be the last four digits of your telephone number.

Our records indicate your telephone number is: (515)555-1234

Therefore, your key code will be: (1234)

How VISITORS enter the building:

When a visitor arrives they will need to know your building and apartment number in advance. This information will be posted due to security reasons and at the request of tenants.

NOTE: It is Grand Trees policy to NOT give out tenant information to any visitor for any reason.

Each visitor will approach the rear door to your building, push the red "start" button and enter the apartment number the person they are here to visit. This will in turn ring your telephone (if you’ve given your number to Grand Trees management). When you answer, you’ll: briefly converse with the visitor to ensure they are someone you’re expecting You’ll then push the "0" (zero) button and hold it for a second to release the door locking system and grant your visitor access to the building.

HOW TO DENY ACCESS:

If instead you want to deny access to your building (if, for instance, someone calls you that you don’t know) dial "7′ deny access.

So remember, "0" to grant access (9 for Birches) and "7" to deny access.

Important Rules regarding the security system:

*Key codes are to be used only by tenants whose name appear on the lease. All other visitors to the buildings must enter as visitors.

*Use of the secured doors is a privilege. Improper use will result in the loss of this privilege.

*Access to the manager’s office will be granted via the security system by dialing "0-0-1" during regular business hours.

*Each tenant is responsible for the actions of those they allow into the building. *Please notify the manager if you must "prop" the doors open for any reason.
